Who I am
This website is run by Christopher Hodge, a self-employed VFX artist trading as FGVFX, based in the UK. I'm responsible for any personal information you share through it. You can contact me about anything on this page at enquiries@fgvfx.com.
What I collect
I only collect what you choose to send me:
- The contact form - your name, email address and message.
- Email, phone or WhatsApp - whatever you include when you get in touch that way.
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or any kind of tracking.
What I use it for
Only to reply to your enquiry and, if we end up working together, to arrange and carry out the work and send invoices. I won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing, and I never sell or give your details away.
Under UK data protection law, my reasons for using your information are that you've asked me to get back to you (my legitimate interest in replying), and, if we work together, that it's needed to agree and carry out a contract with you.
Who else handles it
A few trusted services handle information on my behalf, only so the website and email work:
- Web3Forms - delivers contact form messages to my inbox.
- Google Workspace - my business email.
- Cloudflare - hosts this website. Like any web host, it may keep short-term technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security.
Some of these services may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months.
- If we work together, I keep the records I need for my accounts for as long as UK tax rules require (usually around six years), then delete them.
Your rights
You can ask me at any time to see the information I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, or object to how I use it. Just email enquiries@fgvfx.com and I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. I'd appreciate the chance to put it right first, though.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update it here and change the date at the top.
